Students’ Efforts to Improve School Outdoor Infrastructure

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 19 Jul 2016

Students of Tbilisi Public School #141, sponsored by an MT mini-grant, initiated the improvement of the space outside their school to create a healthy environment. To reach the goal of their project, the students mobilized the school administration and parents around this idea.

The students cleaned the territory around their school; the school administration helped to purchase paint and materials for a fence, and the parents provided tree and flower seedlings to green the yard. Students, school representatives, and parents together participated in all the activities planned within this project.

In parallel, students applied to the Nadzaladevi municipality to support this project. The local authorities promised to provide tree seedlings for the school yard in autumn.
