Students Improve School Environment

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 27 Apr 2016

Students of Chokhatauri Virgin Mary School implemented a civics classroom project to improve outdoor infrastructure of their school. School teachers, parents, community members, local Government and business representatives joined the initiative.

Students, who were supported by their teachers, made pots for flowers from the old vehicle wheels. They also made ceramic pottery, painted tree stumps and made chairs, planted 40 seedlings of roses and 30 seedlings of different flowers, which were provided by parents and community. Private business representatives gifted wheels and material for fence. Local Government helped with transportation. As a result of students’ initiatives, school now has a comfortable yard and cultivated area, which is fenced and protected from animals.
