Open Lesson - “Cooperation with Local Government”

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 15 Feb 2016

On February 10, civics open lesson was held at Batumi public school #23 with 10th grade students on cooperation with local Government. A representative from the local Government was invited to take part in the lesson. Students received information about the responsibilities of the local Government, about elections and learned about the ways of cooperation with local Government for resolving community problems. Civics supplemental textbook “Cooperation with Local Government and Media” was used by the class during the lesson.

At the end of the lesson students shared with the local Government representative about the problems identified through research of school and community needs. They asked the guest to  improve school infrastructure, to help in fencing the school yard and to establish road signs in front of the school for pedestrian safety near the school. Students received promise of support from the local Government representative.

Open lesson was supported by the USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Project, which is implemented by PH International.
