Students Improve School Environment

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 18 Aug 2015

Students, teachers and parents of Tbilisi public school # 127 gathered in order to arrange a small park by improving school yard and its existing infrastructure.

At the beginning of the initiative, students and teachers organized a cleaning action. Parents helped the students in arranging a fountain in the middle of the school yard. They also participated in the greening activities. Plants and trees were donated by community members. Civics teacher of the school, Liana Tvalavadze applied to Krtsanisi District Municipality of Tbilisi to secure benches for the school park for the new academic year. The park is expected to be opened in September, when new academic year at school will start.  It will be a place where students, teachers, parents and other community members can spend their free time.

This initiative was supported by the mini-grant in the framework of USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Program, implemented by PH International.
