Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 20 Feb 2015

Students and civics teachers from six partner schools of MT program in Ozurgeti met with representatives of the local government to discuss the needs, which are critical for their schools and communities. Students presented the problems related to infrastructure, protection of environment, healthy lifestyle, road safety and proposed their solutions.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Merab Chanukvadze, the Governor of Ozurgeti Municipality, said that he and his colleagues are very much impressed with students’ activities and their enthusiasm to solve community problems.

“Representatives of Ozurgeti Municipality will not only support students’ initiatives, but will also take active part in their implementation. We will provide necessary equipment and tree seedlings for greening and cleaning actions. The road safety problems in Ureki will be solved as well” - said Mr. Chanukvadze at the end of the meeting.

Meeting was organized in the framework of USAID funded Momavlis Taoba Program, which is implemented by PH International.
