On January 28, civics club students of Tbilisi school “Iveroni” summed up results of their activities at the school library. “Green Boxes-Protection of Environment” was the title of their initiative which aimed to protect an environment. Students spent a month to collect the scrap paper in the community and exchanged it into new books. Eighteen new books were delivered to the school library.

“Saving forests and preventing cutting of trees can help to avoid ecological problems; we collected scrap at school and in the community and exchanged them into new books. With our initiative we saved four trees”- said Ani Chihua, leader of the school civics club.

A guest from Saburtalo district municipality, who took part in the event, expressed his appreciation towards the work of students and offered them to place green boxes in the building of the municipality.

Teachers, students and representatives of the school administration took part in the event, which was organized in the framework of USAID-funded “Momavlis Taoba” project, implemented by PH International.
