Greening of School Yard in the Village Kvemo Akhalsheni of Adjara Region

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 26 Sep 2017

Students of the village Kvemo Akhalsheni public school carried out a survey to identify critical problems for the students. Marshland in the school yard was identified as one of the problems. Students cooperated with rangers, environmental office and local government representatives as well as community members to get information about the trees that are good at drying the marshlands. They drafted out a plan of the swamp area and planted trees in the school yard. Students prepared a short video, informational booklets and organized photo and drawing exhibitions at the school.  The information about the project was covered by local media.
