GE CALLS Funds 6 New Community Initiatives Throughout Georgia

Georgia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization (GE CALLS) continues awarding grants for implementation of community initiatives throughout Georgia. This year six new projects will be implemented in Tbilisi, Gurjaani, Borjomi, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti and Zugdidi. GE CALLS hosted all partner NGOs during the Community Initiatives Cluster Meeting on September 16. The meeting was attended by the representatives of program donor, The US Department of States’ International Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL). Suring the first session grantees presented their organizations and experience as well as the planned projects. The second session was dedicated to technical issues of cooperation. Projects are of various duration (6-8 months) and are notable for diversity. Youth centers will be founded in Borjomi and Gurjaani, Zugdidi and Ozurgeti NGOs will organize sports activities and art-therapy for youngsters. Two successful projects from GE CALLS Year 2 (Kutaisi and Tbilisi) received funds for implementation of second phases of the projects. The selection of beneficiaries is already underway. All project will start working actively in October.
