Financial Literacy for Social Responsibility Project Closing Ceremony

On May 28, Financial Literacy for Social Responsibility held a final event. The project is supported by GE CALLS and the National Bank of Georgia, implemented by the Institute of Non-Violent Communication in partnership with Free University of Georgia. In the framework of the project, six volunteer students of the Free University delivered trainings on various business-related subjects to the 9th, , 10th and 11th- grade students of Rustavi public schools during five months. The training was delivered in accordance with specific curriculum, worked out for the project by FreeUni team, led by Professor David Markozashvili. After theoretical course, beneficiaries divided into twelve project groups to work on their business ideas. On final event, all groups presented their ideas to the evaluation board. The evaluation board comprised representatives from National Bank of Georgia, US Department of State’s International Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), Free University, Institute of Non-Violent Communication and PH International. The event continued at the National Bank of Georgia, where all the participants were awarded certificated and symbolic gifts by Mr. Giorgi Bakradze, counselor to the President of National Bank of Georgia, Mrs. Tinatin Ebanoidze, GE CALLS Program Manager, Mr. Tamaz Akhobadze, Director of INC and Mr. Vato Lezhava Chancellor of the Free University. The highest point of the day was naming the winner project. The evaluation board selected three projects, which will receive a mini-grant to implement their business ideas. A special recognition was given to the project with highest social responsibility.
