Georgia | Georgia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization | 23 Apr 2014

On April 12 Khashuri Youth Club held its closeout event at Khashuri Library. The event aimed at showcasing the results and outcomes of the project and was attended by friends and members of the families of participants. Club members presented an overview, activities and lessons learned during the project. Presentation was followed by an exhibition called Photo-Positive. Club members tried to capture positive and joyful moments of their lives. Finally, a winner photo was chosen through voting. A 4,5-month project Together for Safe Future of Youth was implemented by Civic Engagement Development Center Co-Participant in the framework of GE CALLS Community Initiatives and aimed at juvenile crime prevention through progress-oriented activities. The project envisaged meetings with lawyer, psychologist, doctor, as well as workshops on digital media. The last phase was dedicated to activities planned and implemented by students. During the project beneficiaries acquired skills to overcome age-related psychological problems, learned how to plan and use free time productively, acquired knowledge on legal issues and in digital media. They also acknowledged importance of healthy life-style. Although the project has come to an end, Club members are enthusiastic and full of ideas to continue working together.
