Signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between PH International and Armenian Police

On November 15, 2013 PH International Armenia Country Director Mariam Martirosyan and Hounan Poghosyan, First Deputy Minister of RA Police, Major General, signed an Agreement to reinforce the cooperative implementation of PHI's Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization Program (AM CALLS) which supports many components of the Child Rights Protection National Plan.

Per the Agreement, PHI will develop a training manual and design a workshop for 40 juvenile police officers and teachers on interactive methodologies and event planning which will help them in future to initiate joint educational-social-cultural activities in and out-of-school settings. The Parties will also initiate inter-agency meetings and discussions in 2013-2014 towards the strengthening of the existing Community Justice Centers and extending the services for juvenile offenders in the centers.

The signing ceremony was attended by Aram Zakaryan, Head of Criminal Investigation of RA Police, Major General, and Nelly Duryan, Head of the “Department of Child Rights Protection and against Domestic Violence”.

Hounan Poghosyan highly appreciated cooperation between the PH International and RA police, particularly focusing on the success of the projects developed for juveniles. Mariam Martirosyan also expressed her gratitude to the RA police for the on-going support in the process of project implementation. Both parties confirmed the scope of jointed activities soon to be implementd in support of legal-judicial reforms in Armenia.

Age Peculiarities and Adaption Practices Specific to Each Age Group | 2 Apr 2015

Over Twenty Syrian- Armenian women participated in the training organized in Yerevan by the two trainers who had recently completed training in “Non-Violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” within the AM CALLS project. This initiative was the basis for an effective collaboration between “Save the Children” working with Syrian Armenians and PH International staff.

Motherhood and Childhood | 9 Mar 2015

On March 9, within the AM CALLS project, the “Offenders' Rehabilitation Center” State Non-Commercial Organization of the RA Ministry of Justice (MoJ) organized an event called “Motherhood and Childhood” at the Abovyan penitentiary where female convicts carry out their sentence. During the event, over ten children arrived to the penitentiary from different regions of Armenia to meet their mothers and celebrate International Women’s Day with their mothers.
