The 7th European Get Online Week, an annual digital empowerment campaign, started on the14th of March.

In 2016, Get Online Week will encourage people of all ages to use the Internet and technology in a safe and confident way to improve their digital skills, job opportunities, and their overall quality of life.

Being the national GOW coordinator in Russia, PH International (PH) with its Tvoy Kurs: IT for Youth Project promoted the campaign via the network of Tvoy Kurs centers for youth and their partners.

Within a week, over 300 free and fun activities and local events will be held across Russia on two main interconnected themes addressed during the campaign:

1. Trust and confidence – addressing key policy actions under the Digital Single Market

2. Digital jobs – as part of eSkills for Jobs.

Almost 200 libraries, NGOs, schools, colleges and universities, public libraries and special educational establishments, located in both urban and rural areas across Russia, will offer their visitors seminars and workshops, master-classes and competitions, e-skills testing and IT career guidance trainings. The activities will target youth and unemployed to raise awareness about digital jobs and the set of skills required for these jobs.
