Water is now available in a local school in Telavi

Georgia | Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training (ACETT) program for Georgia | 10 Feb 2014

Civics club students from Telavi public school #5 found out that their peers in another local school (#6 school in Telavi, which is not the partner school of ACETT program) had no running water and sewerage system at school, that was causing sanitation problems in the building. Since students of Telavi public school #5 already had a good experience of collaboration with the local Government, they helped their peers to advocate for the needs of the school. Local administration promised to inform appropriate departments in order to resolve the problem. After some waiting period, the problem was resolved and works in the amount of 1,200 GEL were performed at Telavi public school #6. Initiative was carried out in the framework of the Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program (ACETT) which is implemented by PH International in Georgia.
