At the training session |
“It’s never too late to learn,” claim students of the University of the Third Age (U3A), a new partner of the IDEA Center in Vladimir. Starting 2010, Microsoft Unlimited Potential training courses, offered by the Vladimir IDEA Center, form a part of the U3A curriculum. On January 6, 2010, a new group of senior citizens started the course in Computer Fundamentals at the IDEA Center.
In November 2009, the IDEA Center in Vladimir held training courses for two U3A groups, with trainees selected from among senior citizens, actively involved in the public life of the local community and seeking to obtain e-skills and retrieve information from the Internet to keep up with their children and grandchildren.
During the course U3A students learned to use OS Windows and work with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and mastered online information search and e-mail skills. They are all firmly convinced that advanced age is not an impediment to learning computer skills.
Starting 2010, computer training courses, offered by the Vladimir IDEA Center, form a part of the U3A study program. In the nearest future the IDEA Center in Vladimir will conduct training courses for senior citizens using two excellent curricula, Microsoft Unlimited Potential and Digital Literacy, both very popular and widely recognized in the global ICT community.
The IDEA Center staff workers and instructors are very happy to be able to help senior citizens to keep up with the rapidly changing world and remain useful and productive both at home and in the workplace.
