School principal awards IDEA certificates
Nenets boarding school in Naryan Mar awarded Microsoft Unlimited Potential certificates to a group of ten tenth-graders who had completed Internet and World Wide Web Fundamentals and successfully passed the final test. Within the next few days the new alumni will fly to their home villages of Indiga, Ust-Kara, Nizhnaya Pesha and Khorei-Ver, bringing along not only their report cards but also their IDEA certificates to show their parents that their fall term was very useful indeed!

Traditionally Microsoft awarded the best IDEA alumni with portable radios. This time gifts went to Zhenya Ushakov and Sasha Logvinov. School principal Aleksey Shamov also gave a surprise gift – a cake and a box of chocolates – to Aleksey Valey, the recipient of the IDEA Center’s 100th certificate.

Even though the IDEA Center has long become a fixture in the boarding school’s daily life, every IDEA certificate award ceremony reminds the faculty just how important it is to introduce teenagers to modern ICTs and give them a good head start in the digital world.
