The importance of a job in woman's life | idea | 31 May 2010


On May 31, a seminar was carried out at the local employment center for women with the participation of trainers from the Kremenchuk IDEA Center’s, which operates within the “Balance+” Personnel Professional Development Center. The role of a job in woman’s life was discussed from both specific and general perspectives. Work as a source of income, as a means of self-actualization, as a duty, as an obligation to relatives, as a way to display love (household work). And for every woman - it is purely individual, as is the process of experiencing temporary unemployment.

Transboundary knowledge trade – the role of the third sector and the civil economics – this was the topic of a seminar for the representatives of governmental and private employment agencies and civil organizations of Poland and Ukraine within the framework of a transboundary initiative support program in the European Bug Region conducted in the city of Helm, the Republic of Poland, from May 31 till June 2, 2010.
Ukraine was represented by the specialists from the Volyn Oblast Employment Center, the Civil Society “Volyn Perspectives”, Volyn Regional Youth's Civil Organization “Regional European Development Institute”, Charity Fund “Rehabilitation”, and Volyn Regional Youth’s Labor Center.

17-20th of May, 2010 at Samarqand, Uzbekistan training for tutors on Intel® Teach Program
Getting Started Course”. The participants of training are educators of pedagogical universities and institutions for qualification raising. The representative of Uzbekistan Ministry of Education and UNESCO representative took part in the training. PH organized this training.

DOTCOM - Imagine Center | dotcom am | 17 May 2010


On May 1, 2010 a few Armenian representatives of DOTCOM program were hosted by the “Dialogue for Action 2010” Armenian-Azerbaijani Dialogue Program implemented by the Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation. The Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation is an independent, non-political organization and is dedicated to positively transforming relations in conflict-torn societies.

New Partnership Establishes the Next CJC in Talin | zang | 3 May 2010


On April 28, 2010 as a result of successful partnership between PH International ZANG Armenia Legal Socialization Program and “Reforming Juvenile Justice System in Armenia to support deinstitutionalization” project funded World Vision’s Middle East and Eastern Europe Regional Office the 7th Community Justice Center (CJC) was established in the town of Talin, Aragatson region. Like the other CJCs, established in 6 communities, the opening of newly founded center enforced within Armenia’s National Program of Child Protection, implemented by the Armenian Police, and act to provide restorative justice responses to youth reported in non-violent crimes, as well as with full support and engagement of parents and community members they serve to increase public safety and reduce juvenile crime rate in the Republic of Armenia.

GLSP organized a professional exchange to Armenia on March 22-25. Among the exchange participants were Lia Giagauri, Director of the Public School #165; Zurab Tvauri, Chief of the District Inspectors Division in Tbilisi; Ramaz Gavarjaladze, Deputy Head of Adjara Police, and Nana Ioseliani, GLSP Coordinator. The purpose of the exchange was to observe Community Justice Centers and school based Youth Boards in Armenia, which are ZANG models that could be replicated in Georgia.

6 CJCs WRAP-UP YEAR 2009 PLANs and WELCOME NEW CJC TEAMs | zang | 26 Mar 2010


In the past months, in addition to the ongoing activities of the ZANG program’s Community Justice Centers (CJC), PH International’s (PHI) Armenia staff worked towards expanding its partnerships to establish new Community Justice Centers. One of such opportunities is through collaboration with the Armenian branch of World Vision International Charitable Organization (WVA). Through cooperative efforts PH International plans to set up 2 more CJCs, one in town of Talin, Aragatsotn region, and the other in Kapan, Syunik region. The new CJCs will be based on the Community Centers for Children years ago established by World Vision, and currently funded by the local municipalities. The Talin CJC will be the first one to open: after some pilot period, PHI and WVA will jointly commence the activities of setting-up the Community Justice Center under the auspices of the Kapan Community Center.
