NGOs involved in GE CALLS grants program often initiate activities and workshops outside the framework of the project in order to meet the needs and interests of the beneficiaries.
One of the examples is a workshop How to Write a CV and Motivation Letter conducted by a volunteer of Association of Young Psychologists and Doctors in Zugdidi.

«The Prof - Day», a specialized IT job fair with this name will be held on April 25, 2014 in Ternopil. A participant of "IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark", Ternopil Oblast Center 'Association labor unions youth of Ukraine " is among the event’s organizers. The event's agenda includes specialized seminars, workshops, companies’ presentations on their products and career opportunities for young professionals. Students from the Ge Calls participant school #8 visited Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Academy. Academy employees welcomed them and guided through different departments of the camp.
Students got acquainted with methods of studies at the Academy and attended presentation on the topic: “Study Process at MIA Academy”. They also visited classes of the academy, gym, mock jury court and border checkpoint as well as real and simulated shooting ranges.
These type of activities along with the Legal Culture lessons, that are delivered by the teachers and police officers trained within the GE Calls program, greatly enrich the learning process.

MAK LSP trainings 2014 in schools in Macedonia have started

Monitoring of GE Calls school component has been finalized. Expert Nino Kvitaisvhvili and Program Coordinator Rusudan Dzigrashvili visited each and every participant school and attended Legal Culture lessons.

The monitoring revealed several tangible results of the program, among which the cooperation of Police officers, school resource officers and teachers is exceptional. They plan lessons together and skilfully combine their experience of pedagogy and knowledge on legal and judicial issues.
During the lessons each student is actively involved including representatives of ethnic minorities and, what is most important, children with special needs.

Police officers regularly provide children with the information about current legislation updates that are not reflected in their text books yet. Also they deliver messages based on real cases from their experience.

Three projects were funded as a result of second RFP by GE CALLS. This time new youth-targeted projects will be implemented in Ozurgeti, Zugdidi and Poti.
Currently GE CALLS-funded youth-targeted projects are being implemented in 6 cities throughout the country.

On March 20 the members of Khashuri Youth Club organized a Sports Fun Day. The event was held at the premises of Khashuri Sports School. Club members together with other peers participated in various Entertaining competitions.
The event aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle.

A seminar "Entrepreneurship as a way of employment" was held for school students of the 10th and -11th grades of the Kyiv District in Simferopol, as part of the "IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark". It helped to familiarize students with the key concepts, categories, forms, organization and operation of business. Participants learned about international experience and business success stories of young businessmen who became millionaires. Also, youth got the basic knowledge on how to prepare a business plan.

Members of Telavi Media-Lab founded in the framework of GE CALLS grants program met with representatives of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University Students’ Council.
Lab members and acting president of the Council, Zurab Grishashvili discussed possibilities of joint work of school and university students.

A workshop "Starting a business, as a path to personal fulfillment" was held in Rivne with the assistance of a local IDEA Training Center within "IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark". A trainer informed young college students about labor market needs in Ukraine and in the Rivne region. Youth also discussed different ways of self-realization and achieving personal economic success, including entrepreneurship. Participants actively elaborated on the main topics of the training - where to get a successful business idea, and which knowledge and skills are required for its successful implementation.
