10th grade students of the village Chkhoria Public School gathered a photo collection of the interesting places of the village, produced the village map and a tourist guide, where the most remarkable places of the village were placed.
School based civics club students of Rustavi public school # 3 decided to increase awareness about Rustavi city and its history among the residents of the city.
School based civics club members of Tbilisi Public School №118 have partnered with the representatives of local government in order to improve road safety in the community.
Students from different public schools of USAID funded civic education program “Momavlis Taoba” presented the results of their civics projects in 10 regions of Georgia.
The students addressed Tsalka Municipality to initiate the restoration of the tradition to mark the day dedicated to sport. Zviad Shengelia, Director of Tsalka Sports School noted that sport school will take this request into account. Mr. Shengelia also talked about the healthy lifestyle and the importance of involvement of young people in sport.
Students in Adjara region organized eco week. More than 100 students participated in the week and implemented various activities. The students met with representatives of organizations working on environmental issues, discussed the threats of destruction of natural resources and got recommendations.
School based civics clubs students organized a bicycle marathon in Batumi Boulevard. The Marathon was dedicated to the World Health Day and aimed at increasing public awareness of disease control and timely diagnosis.
From 21st to 23rd April, within ACPI program 5 full-day Municipal Project Writing workshops were held in five municipalities of Adjara: Khulo, Shuakhevi, Qeda, Khelvachauri, Kobuleti. Police, teachers, students, local mayors and councils and local community leaders discussed the ideas to implement joint initiatives that will create a better and safer environment for youth. They have jointly identified different problems in their community regarding the youth and through facilitation of ACPI staff and experts’ participants chose one idea and wrote the initial draft for the projects, that are planned to be implemented in May and June.
