PH International Montenegro organized training for Teaching teams | mcep | 27 Aug 2022


PH International Montenegro organized training for Teaching teams with the aim of empowering 19 teachers and police officers from 5 municipalities (Andrijevica, Berane, Gusinje, Plav and Rožaje) in Northeast of Montenegro to implement the Legal Culture (LC) Curriculum for children and youth in 10 elementary schools.

MCEP Study Visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina | blsp | 31 May 2022

An MCEP delegation arrived to Sarajevo this afternoon for a study visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. A group of seven, consisting of two PH international Montenegro Program Director and Program Coordinator and representatives of the Ministry of Education, Institute of Education, Public Health Institute and Youth Initiative for Human Rights, all from Montenegro, were welcomed by the PH International Office in BiH staff in the conference room of hotel Holiday. The introductory meeting was spent discussing the study visit itinerary and program issues. MCEP team will stay in Sarajevo until June 2 by which time they will meet with key stakeholders and attend LSP classes in schools in Sarajevo, Kakanj and Mostar.

Five local self-governments (Andrijevica, Berane, Plav, Gusinje and Rozaje) and ten primary schools from Northeastern region of Montenegro are selected for the pilot phase of the MCEP.

Montenegro Civic Education Project (MCEP) reached approximately 1200 students with kick-off afterschool activities | mcep | 28 May 2022


MCEP team organized twelve interactive workshops on the importance of health-smart decisions in childhood and youth attended by approximately 800 pupils from ten primary schools in Andrijevica, Berane, Gusinje, Plav and Rožaje and three interactive workshops on the discrimination and peer violence for approximately 300 pupils from three primary schools from Berane and Rožaje.

Attending Peer Forum and Meeting with LSP Teacher in Banja Luka School | blsp | 26 May 2022

On May 23, 2022, BLSP Program Coordinator was invited to Primary School "Georgi Stojkov Rakovski" in Banja Luka to attend Peer Forum organized by Grigor Herbez, a student who attended Youth Leadership Workshop in March in Trebinje. The Forum met to discus steps to campaign for the installation and equipping of a sensory room in this school, designed to help pupils with a range of sensory impairments to develop hand-eye coordination, motor skills, colour recognition, communication and sensory skills. The Forum plans to raise awareness of students, parents and local community and organize various activities in order to collect money for this cause. The activities should be implemented between June and September this year.
The visit was also an opportunity to meet with Dražena Kragulj, LSP Teacher who had just completed 8 LSP modules and who shared a lot of valuable first-hand information on the experience in the selected classroom.

Visits to Youth Leaders and BLSP Teaching Teams in Bijeljina and Brčko Schools | blsp | 22 May 2022

On May 19 and 20 2022, BLSP Program Coordinator visited Primary Schools "Sveti Sava" and Primary School "Knez Ivo od Semberije" in Bijeljina and the Third Primary School and the Fifth Primary School in Brčko and met with Teaching Teams implementing BLSP modules in selected classes and young students-leaders. The purpose of the visits was observing the activities of Teaching Teams implementing BLSP modules and the progress of selected students who attended Youth Leadership Workshops and who, upon returning to their schools, were tasked with establishing Peer Forums of at least 30 students. Youth Leaders in these four schools have successfully established Peer Forums and had them implementing their activities of choice, ranging from organizing workshops on peer violence for fellow students, working with special needs children on organizing a bazar to collect money to purchase didactical material for children with learning disabilities to establishing a female football club in school. Peer Forums are expected to present the results of their activities some time before the end of school year (mid-June 2022).

“Video Blogging” and “Debate Skills” trainings for Access Students | amt | 10 May 2022


As an important effort to maximize the impact and sustainability of the resources created within the “AM Tavush Outreach Project”, the “American Library and Training Center” (ALTC) in Ijevan initiated trainings on “Video Blogging” (April 25-28, 2022) and “Debate Skills” (April 19, 20 and 22, 2022) for English Access Microscholarship Program students.

Municipal Projects are Initiated and Planned by Police Officers | cpi | 10 May 2022


On May 3-5 CPI Project participant police officers were trained in using community policing approaches in practice and based on them plan municipal projects. Municipal projects aim to create a precedent and platform of implementing joint initiatives between police and local municipalities related to youth problems.  Policing models, such as SARA and PAT, for analyzing and reacting on problems were introduced to police officers. During the 3 days, police officers worked in three groups according to municipalities Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda.
