A Conference Hall at School

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 7 Oct 2016

Students of Village Bejano Armenian-language public school in Samtskhe-Javakheti region carried out an advocacy campaign to arrange conference hall in the school with the support from MT mini-grant project. The project aimed to increase civic engagement among youth. Students started with negotiating with school administration to release storage space for the conference hall. They reached the agreement and also got additional support from school administration such as PVC door, window-shutters and chairs. After rehabilitation of the room, the students wrote slogans on the walls and painted them. Later newly established conference hall hosted open lessons, students’ performance “Me, Offender and Society” and discussions.

The initiative was supported by local radio “NORI” which covered information about this initiative.

The mini-grant project was carried out in the framework of the USAID-funded "Momavlis Taoba" program, which is implemented by PH International.
