Advocacy Campaign for the Road Safety

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 22 Apr 2015

Students of “Momavlis Skola” in Batumi carried out advocacy campaign for the road safety. There was no appropriate road sign and speed bump in front of the school, which is situated on a street with heavy traffic. This created a danger for pedestrians who tried to cross the street.
Students organized the meeting with the Chairman of Batumi city council Mr. Irakli  Cheishvili and discussed the road safety; they also prepared the letter requesting to solve the problem.
As the result of students advocacy campaign the problem was resolved. The road sign and speed bump were placed in front of the “Momavlis Skola” school.
Advocacy Campaign was held in the framework of USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Project, which is implemented by PH International.
