Georgia | Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training (ACETT) program for Georgia | 1 Oct 2010

On October 1, 2010, program staff from the Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program (ACETT) met with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs to provide information about ACETT and discuss priorities and activities of the program. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry, USAID and PH International. Vladimer Vardzelashvili, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, showed his interest towards the program and mentioned, that the Ministry is eager to collaborate with the program. Minister Vardzelashvili plans to promote active citizenship among Georgian youth through regional youth centers. All those in attendance at the meeting also spoke about the State Youth Strategy and the Ministry’s action plan for 2011. ACETT was invited to participate in the workgroup and support implementation of the State Youth Policy for Georgia.
