ACETT Civics Clubs promote healthy lifestyle in Samegrelo

On June 9 the students of ACETT (Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program) partner schools gathered on a central square in Zugdidi to promote healthy lifestyle among youth. The large event included bicycle parade and sports competition among students from different schools, involved in the ACETT program. Jumber Lezhava, the Guinness Recordsman, world bike traveller and UN’s World Citizen supported the event and took part in bike riding together with participating youth. Event was organized by PH International and its partner NGO Atinati Association. It was co-sponsored and supported by many different international and local organizations and businesses. Zugdidi local municipality was one of the co-organizers of the event. Event participants were addressed by ACETT program director Marina Ushveridze, by the Head of Zugdidi Sakrebulo Levan Konjaria and by Darejan Gabedava, Deputy Head of Zugdidi local Municipality. Stature of the world’s first bicycle was prepared and in agreement with Zugdidi local municipality, will be positioned near the central square of Zugdidi to promote healthy lifestyle in Samegrelo region. At the event, participant students received the prizes from different companies in nominations, such as – the best essay on the use of bicycle, the best bike performance, the most original performance and the most spectacular one. Students from ACETT partner schools in Samegrelo were actively involved in the preparations for the event, which included student work on logo for the event, student participation in planning and design of the event, as well as their participation in activities and performances for the promotion of healthy lifestyle.
