"Academy of Leaders" | mt | 9 Jul 2020


"Academy of Leaders" - a day camp was held for the students of Momavlis Taoba program partner schools of Adjara region.
Students visited the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. They met with the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Davit Gabaidze, and received information about the activities of the Council. A small excursion was also organized for them in the Supreme Council.
Later a working meeting was held to discuss leadership and youth involvement in solving community problems.
At the end of the meeting, the students planned joint activities and are going to implement them this summer.

To congratulate American people with the USA Independence Day, USAID supported school-based civics clubs students from Kvemo Kartli region prepared a video presentation and posters.
A campaign dedicated to Independence Day increased students’ knowledge about the leading democratic country, the importance of Independence Day and the USA-Georgia partnership.

To promote a healthy lifestyle among the peers, students from Sameba village public school in Kvemo Kartli region mobilized community members and started school stadium rehabilitation activities. Students plan to organize sports games and contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the youth.

Students promote a healthy lifestyle in the community | mt | 22 Jun 2020


To promote a healthy lifestyle in the community 10th-grade students from Sasireti village public school mobilized community members, local administration and with their cooperation started stadium rehabilitation activities. They cleaned the territory and dug holes to install goalposts.
Students also conducted a contest of essays, posters and drawings and held an online presentation to promote a healthy lifestyle and healthy nutrition among their peers.

Ideathon - An Innovative Model of Police and Youth Communication was Developed and Organized within ACPI program | acpi | 19 Jun 2020


9th and 10th grade 30 students from Khulo, Shuakhevi, Khelvachauri, Keda and Kobuleti municipalities took part in an online event with ACPI program: Ideathon – Innovative Ideas Competition. Ideathon was all about generating, developing and presenting in a limited time period innovative ideas on new forms of communication between police and youth. Ideathon itself is an innovative model of communication between youth and police, which was developed within ACPI program during pandemic period.

Civics Teachers’ Regional "Roundtables" | mt | 18 Jun 2020


During June 8-17, 2020, Civics Teachers’ Regional "Roundtables" for Civics Teachers of Adjara, Kvemo Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Imereti, Kakheti, Tbilisi, Shida Kartli and Guria regions’ public schools were held in the framework of USAID funded "Momavlis Taoba" program and was organized by the Civic Education Teachers' Forum.

Civics experts Aluda Goglichidze and Nino Chiabrishvili led the roundtables.

Teachers discussed the possible design of civics teaching in high school, students’ projects as a mandatory part of the civics curriculum and other important aspects for further development of school-based civic education.

Following a series of roundtables, MT and Civic Education Teachers Forum (CETF) will share teachers’ recommendations with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia.

An Educational Animation on Cybersecurity has been developed within ACPI and SCOPE Programs | acpi | 18 Jun 2020


ACPI and SCOPE programs have developed an educational animation on Cybersecurity. Cybercrimes have increased especially during the pandemic period due to everyone going online. The short educational animation explains with a nice visual and simplicity what is the most common threat in internet, how to keep a cyber hygiene and not be become a victim of a cybercrime.

Webinar on Road Safety, one of the Major Problems Identified by Local Police in Adjara | acpi | 16 Jun 2020


Live webinar „Road Safety begins with us“ was organized for ACPI Program school students within the municipal projects. Road safety was one of the major problems identified by the local police in Adjara and therefore it was decided that raising awareness in youth on this issue was important. There were two speakers, representative from the NGO presenting the road safety rules and the police officer talking about the legal regulations.

Students in Guria region decided to learn more about crime among youth | mt | 16 Jun 2020


Students from MT partner schools in Guria region decided to learn more about crime among youth because it became a critical concern in the region.
To promote crime prevention and educate peers about negative consequences youth conflict may lead to, students surveyed the attitude of their peers about the juvenile crime to find out the main causes of crime and how juvenile crime can be prevented.
Students also participated in an online meeting with a psychologist Tamta Dolidze and discussed human personality types and behavioral criminology.
In addition, students planned to participate in an online discussion with a lawyer to talk about crime prevention among youth and learn about organizations that work in the field of juvenile crime prevention.

Second Live Webinar on Cybersecurity with the focus on Legal Regulations was organized with the initiative of local police and teachers | acpi | 15 Jun 2020


What can we do to have a secure internet? What are the legal regulations to protect cyber crime victims? Due to great interest from students on these issues, with the initiative of local police and teachers second live webinar on cyber security this time focusing on legal regulations was organized for 8th, 9th and 10th grade students of ACPI program partner 32 schools in Adjara region.
