Students Advocacy campaign - “Without Restriction” | initiatives | 20 Oct 2017


Students of the village of Ozurgeti public school conducted an advocacy campaign to increase public awareness about the needs of people with special needs. Students studied the Georgian regulations for better integration of people with special needs into society, and prepared a video clip for informing people about them. Supported by the school administration, a ramp was constructed at the entrance of the school.

The goal of the mini-grant project “Friendship is a Bridge” initiated by Gurkeli public school students was to open a small computer center in the village and provide an employment opportunity for a local resident with special needs.

Tech4Good Event in Tbilisi - Empowering Georgian NGOs to Better Serve their Communities | tech4good | 20 Oct 2017


In close cooperation with the Microsoft’s Regional and Georgia Offices, PH International in Georgia has organized the Microsoft’s “Tech4Good” event at Mediateka Vake Park in Tbilisi on June 16th, 2017. The goal of the event was to announce about the world-class solutions and technology programs, that would be offered to Georgian NGOs to support their efforts in better serving their communities.

Marvel Comic Book Artist and Writer Met Youth in Youth Engagment Center in Borjomi | scope | 20 Oct 2017


On October 19, 2017 David Mack, a well-known Marvel comic book artist and writer, visited Youth Engagement Center in Borjomi, supported by SCOPE program as part of the community outreach and support component. David Mack presented his work, made live demonstration of comics drawing and delivered a drawing workshop for more than 50 local youth aged 12-17 in Borjomi.

McLain Association for Children (MAC) and PH International: New Partnership Supporting Inclusive Communities in Georgia | initiatives | 19 Oct 2017


PH International is pleased to announce a new partnership with McLain Association for Children (MAC), a Georgian non-profit serving children with disabilities and their families. Using the PH on-line grant making platform, www.initiatives.ge, students and teachers across Georgia will compete for funds donated by MAC for projects that contribute to more inclusive environments.

Prevention of Early Marriage | mt | 16 Oct 2017


Students of Kalinino public school organized an information campaign to increase students’ awareness about the bad influence of early marriage. 



The initiative was prioritized as there were many cases of early marriage in Azeri communities. Students interviewed local women who got married in their early ages and shot a bilingual (in Azeri and Georgian languages) a video. The students shared the video with other Azeri schools’ students.

Book – a source of knowledge | mt | 12 Oct 2017


Civics club students of Misaktsieli public school decided to arrange a library and working space at the school. The project was supported by the school administration by providing the space. Students conducted a survey “My favorite book” and discussed their findings. o promote the importance of books, the students organized reading hours, announced a drawing contest “In the book world”, visited the central library, celebrated international day of books and met a famous Georgian writer, Aleksandre Didebashvili.

A Path towards Health | mt | 4 Oct 2017


Students of Gachedili public school #1 decided to renovate a school gym. Students, parents and teachers took part in the cleaning action. Students met with representatives of Martvili Municipality and school administration to get additional money for gym rehabilitation. Martvili municipality donated 800 GEL and school administration, 600 GEL for the renovation activities. To promote a healthy lifestyle in the community, students and school administration organized a photo contest, disseminated fliers, organized a training “Sport and health” and sports competitions. Students from neighboring schools were also involved in the activities.

Students of Patriketi school, in the framework of MT program, received a mini-grant to enrich the school library with new books and promote literacy among youth. Students arranged a green-box in the school and organized a book collection in the community. Students renewed old books in the library. A discussion “My favorite Hero” and reading hours with younger students of the school were held in the frame of the mini-grant.

Better environment for future generation | mt | 27 Sep 2017


Students of Shashiani public school initiated a mini-grant project to promote a healthy lifestyle in their village and to arrange outdoor sport equipment in the park located in the center of the village. Besides installing sports equipment, students organized a greening action, arranged flower-beds and planted flowers there. The students' initiative was supported by the community members and the local government. The parents were involved in renovation activities and the local government installed a banner in the park. Once the sports equipment was installed in the park, the students organized a sports competition with participation of their peers from neighbor village Mukuzani.
