On March 6, 2012, the ZANG Armenia Legal Socialization Program (ALSP), funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and implemented by Project Harmony International (PHI), partnering with the Alternative Sanctions and Probation Division of the Criminal-Executive Department (RA Ministry of Justice), organized a cultural-educational event for 25 Armenian youth in conflict with the law who are currently under the supervision of the above-mentioned Division.

Twenty-five young offenders from Yerevan and 4 marzes of Armenia (Aragatsotn, Armavir, Kotayk, and Ararat), who are currently engaged in probation services will came together in Yerevan to visit the Armenian National Gallery and the History Museum. The group visited the museum, and during the tour, interested journalists were offered a chance to briefly meet and talk with the juveniles and the staff of PH and the Alternative Sanctions and Probation Division. During lunch, PH staff will informally talked about the ZANG program activities with the young people, specifically, providing information about the Community Justice Centers. All youth and the staff of the Alternative Sanctions and Probation Division present at the event received from PH ZANG program related gifts. This initiative, among many other similar activities yet to come, aimed to boost optimism and confidence in these youth, while helping them to reintegrate into their communities and become full-fledged citizens.
