Additional funding from OSI

Armenia | ZANG Armenian Legal Socialization Project | 11 Oct 2011

Currently there are eight CJCs working towards the promotion of the restorative justice principles in Armenia. They all are hosted and operated by various NGOs or child development community centers established in seven different regions of Armenia, still closely and regularly cooperate with each other. Six of the mentioned CJCs were established by PH ZANG program and form a well-developed working network.

In August 2011, the Yerevan CJC, hosted by Health and Education Armenian Center was granted funding from the Open Society Institute (OSI) to support and strengthen the activities of CJCs operating in Yerevan, Gyumri (Shirak region) and Alaverdy (Lori region). The mentioned funding will be a great asset and an important financial assistance not only for Yerevan CJC hosting NGO, but also the CJCs working in “Arevamanuk” Family and Child Protection Social Fund in Gyumri and Family Assistance Center of Alaverdy. The funding will be mostly spent to enhance Restorative services for juvenile offenders, as well as to organize crime prevention events in the communities.
