Armenia | Armenia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization | 31 Mar 2017

Capacity building of the newly established Probation State Service (PSS) in Armenia envisaged within the AM CALLS Community Grants component is in the process. Series of trainings covering the concept of probation and the main roles and responsibilities of the probation officers are conducted in all regions of Armenia. The trainings also address main tips of social work which is considered to be the basis of probation service. The six grantee organizations ensure fluent implementation of this component in respective regions of Armenia through involvement of highly professional experts in the field. All the 11 PSSs from all over Armenia are covered by the project. The PSS staff as well as representatives from related regional structures and NGOs are updated on the current developments of the RA Law on Probation, and the grounds of cooperation are established between the PSSs and other organizations/structures functioning in the respective regions.
