INL Representatives Visit AM CALLS Program Site to Observe INL Funded Projects

On May 13, 2016 representatives from Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) visited “Family and Community” NGO in Metsamor to observe the community initiatives within the INL funded AM CALLS project

Ms. Cari Enav, Director of INL Europe and Asia office, INL, Jack Anderson, INL Officer in Yerevan, and the local INL team were present at discussions facilitated by the NGO staff for the Youth Club members established within the project.

The topic of the discussion was R. J. Palacio’s prize winning novel “Wonder” which addresses the issue of tolerance and social inclusion of people with disabilities.

After the discussions, the youth shared their feedback on the project and answered questions related to Armenia in general.

Nelli Duryan, the Head of RA Juvenile Police, who was also invited to meet the INL staff and discuss police involvement in the project, stressed the importance of the project for prevention of juvenile delinquency and domestic violence in Armenia.

At the end of the event, the guests were invited to listen to the songs performed by the Young Singers Choir functioning at the center and to watch a small part from a puppet performance acted by the young actors of the center.

Age Peculiarities and Adaption Practices Specific to Each Age Group | 2 Apr 2015

Over Twenty Syrian- Armenian women participated in the training organized in Yerevan by the two trainers who had recently completed training in “Non-Violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” within the AM CALLS project. This initiative was the basis for an effective collaboration between “Save the Children” working with Syrian Armenians and PH International staff.

Motherhood and Childhood | 9 Mar 2015

On March 9, within the AM CALLS project, the “Offenders' Rehabilitation Center” State Non-Commercial Organization of the RA Ministry of Justice (MoJ) organized an event called “Motherhood and Childhood” at the Abovyan penitentiary where female convicts carry out their sentence. During the event, over ten children arrived to the penitentiary from different regions of Armenia to meet their mothers and celebrate International Women’s Day with their mothers.
