The Armenian professionals visited South Burlington High School
On April 15th, as part of their travel to Vermont the group of Armenian professionals, participating in an exchange program to the U.S. visited South Burlington High School, to meet the staff and the SRO of the school, to observe how they interact, what kind of policies and practices are used at SBHS that ensure smooth operation of the school and how the problems that arise are resolved.
Patrick Phillips, Assistant Principal of the school and Kevin Grealis, the School Resource Officer talked about their collaboration, successes and the challenges. Nelli Duryan, the Head of RA Juvenile Police and Narine Hovhannisyan, the Head of Secondary Education of RA MoES shared their experiences with the SRO program in Armenia and about their collaboration between these two entities.
The Armenian delegation had an eye-opening tour of the school, visited classes and received answers to their many questions about class schedules, school activities and programs that prevent juvenile crime in the school.

Over Twenty Syrian- Armenian women participated in the training organized in Yerevan by the two trainers who had recently completed training in “Non-Violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” within the AM CALLS project.
