Visit of Armenian Professionals to the U.S.
On April 10th a group of six Armenian professionals and two PH staff visited Vermont to learn more about the Youth Assessment and Screening Tool (YASI), to study its usage and administration. On the first day of its 5-day visit to Vermont the group had a chance to visit the Chittenden County State’s Attorney Office and meet State’s Attorney T.J. Donovan and his staff who led an interactive discussion that addressed the juvenile justice system in Vermont, juvenile case processing and the use of YASI during this process.
An alternative to incarceration was also presented to Armenian professionals by Emmet Helrich, Community Coordinator, and his staff of the Rapid Intervention Community Court (RICC). Many questions were asked by the Armenian delegation regarding this newly established pre-charge program, designed to enhance public safety by addressing the root cause of one's criminal behavior.

Success Stories
 Over Twenty Syrian- Armenian women participated in the training organized in Yerevan by the two trainers who had recently completed training in “Non-Violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” within the AM CALLS project. This initiative was the basis for an effective collaboration between “Save the Children” working with Syrian Armenians and PH International staff. > More On March 9, within the AM CALLS project, the “Offenders' Rehabilitation Center” State Non-Commercial Organization of the RA Ministry of Justice (MoJ) organized an event called “Motherhood and Childhood” at the Abovyan penitentiary where female convicts carry out their sentence.
