Parenting Training Wrap-up Event

Armenia | Armenia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization | 19 Jun 2015

On June 10, 2015, the AM CALLS staff conducted a wrap-up meeting with the 14 trainers who received a ToT on “Non-violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” back in April and successfully transferred their knowledge to almost 80 peers in their respective regions.

Considering the applied component of the training, the trainers ensured smooth transfer of the knowledge on parenting issues and conflict resolution to the families and parents in their regions through meetings or trainings conducted by trained professionals. And now, on this sunny June day, they had come together to meet with their group members and share their stories, successes and challenges which they had encountered in the process of program implementation. The trainers made small presentations highlighting their successes and challenges, focusing on sustainability issues, as well as made valuable recommendations on how to maintain the efforts and resources they have invested in that initiative. One of the highlights of the program was active collaboration established between the 14 trainers involved in the AM CALLS program and professionals (social workers and psychologists) from other organizations working with children and their families, such as World Vision, Armenian Caritas, Save the Children, etc. who participated and later conducted a similar training on “Non-violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” for their beneficiaries by using the ToT manual developed within the AM CALLS program.

The meeting passed in a friendly and positive atmosphere. At the end of the meeting Anush Aleksanyan, the ToT trainer, who was overwhelmed with the words of sincere appreciation by the 14 trainers, handed out the certificates to them. “I am really happy to see how the small seeds planted in this room have grown into a big tree”, said Anush Aleksanyan summarizing the results and sharing her excitement with the participants.
