Capacity Building Training for School Resource Officers

The first 2 days of the four day training focused on the topics of communication methods and structure The trainer presented the school as a specific environment for formal and non-formal education, focusing on its characteristics. The group discussed the best communication and collaborative methods to be effectively practiced with direct beneficiaries at schools . The trainees were asked to develop their own project plans for students supporting safe environment and promoting the rule of law at schools. The next two days of the training focused on the conflicts and the best methods of conflict prevention in high schools. Different case studies were discussed and the trainees were given a chance to share their experience, jointly brainstorm solutions, talk about effective and ineffective conflict solutions.

The participants also voiced a couple of problems they face in high schools today, which, however, require global changes in education system.

For the next few months, each SRO will host PH staff for events in and out of classroom, promoting legal socialization activities in schools. The most active 10 SROs will participate in an exposure visit to Georgian, to see how their colleagues are engaged in legal education projects with youth and to share their experience on how non-official and less formal approach helps them to do their job better.

Age Peculiarities and Adaption Practices Specific to Each Age Group | 2 Apr 2015

Over Twenty Syrian- Armenian women participated in the training organized in Yerevan by the two trainers who had recently completed training in “Non-Violent Parenting and Conflict Resolution” within the AM CALLS project. This initiative was the basis for an effective collaboration between “Save the Children” working with Syrian Armenians and PH International staff.

Motherhood and Childhood | 9 Mar 2015

On March 9, within the AM CALLS project, the “Offenders' Rehabilitation Center” State Non-Commercial Organization of the RA Ministry of Justice (MoJ) organized an event called “Motherhood and Childhood” at the Abovyan penitentiary where female convicts carry out their sentence. During the event, over ten children arrived to the penitentiary from different regions of Armenia to meet their mothers and celebrate International Women’s Day with their mothers.
