Special Projects Initiated by School Resource Officers with the Support of PHI | am leap | 20 Dec 2018


Throughout October-November 2018, within the “Legal Education and Active Participation” program, with the support of PH International and in cooperation with schools’ administrations the SROs, assigned to RA high schools initiated and facilitated number of events for students.

6-day Training for Trainers Program for the Armenian Probation Service | am psp | 8 Dec 2018


On November 29, 2018 the 6-day Training for Trainers, organized within the “Support to Probation Service” funded by the US Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Affairs and implemented by PH International was completed.

The events were organized in partnership with the RA Ministry of Justice, specifically with close cooperation with the RA Probation Service.

A total of 16 participants represented by the RA Ministry of Justice, the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice, the Penitentiary Department of the Ministry of Justice, the MoJ’s “Center for Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programs” SNRO, as well as by several Non-Governmental Organizations were trained as future trainers of the RA Probation Service. The training was conducted by American and English experts Janet Dunigan, George Keizer and Steven Pitts, assisted by national experts Gayane Hovakimyan, Deputy Director of the MoJ’s “Center for Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programs” SNRO, and Arshak Gasparyan, Chairman of “Social Justice” NGO.

Workshop on Effective Case Management of Children in Difficult Situations | am leap | 8 Nov 2018


On October 25-26, 2018 Project Harmony initiated a workshop on effective case management of children in difficult situations. The event was organized for all stockholders involved in the referral and management process, representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, UNICEF, Child Protection Units, regional units of family, women and children rights protection, as well as for different NGOs.

The Armenian office of Project Harmony International is recruiting students from Yeghvard, Goris and Chambarak for enrollment in the new 2-year English Access Microscholarship program funded by the U.S. government.

Graduation Camp for Armenian Access Students | access am | 27 Sep 2018


In Sept. 21-23 54 students from 3 Access sites - Nor Hachn, Chambarak and Goris - got together to celebrate their successes, to highlight the skills and knowledge they have obtained throughout the program and receive their certificates of successful program graduation.

The group met many interesting guest speakers, including FLEX and YouthLAB programs alumni, who coached them on effective completion of application forms and participation in interviews. They also sat at different sessions that included a panel discussion with successful females in legal-judicial professions as advice for career orientation, an interactive session on time management and finally debates between teams with appointed dispositions on different issues.

On Sept. 22, Mr. Rafik Mansour, Deputy Chief of Mission and the representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia visited the students, talked to them about their accomplishments and awarded the certificates.

Training of Trainers for Specialists Working with Incarcerated Youth | am leap | 10 Aug 2018


Within the Legal Education and Active Participation (LEAP) program in June and July, 2018 a ToT was organized for Abovyan penitentiary and CLERP (Center for Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programs) staff on facilitation methods and personal development to support the Abovyan youth prisoners upon their release. The training was conducted by a psychologist from the Psychological Forensic Department at the National Bureau of Forensics who also developed a manual on Personal Development designed for the specialists working with the incarcerated youth.

2-day Training of School Psychologists on Effective Participation in Investigation of Juvenile Victims and Witnesses | am leap | 26 Jun 2018


On June 18 and 19, following the development and publication of the Manual on Effective Participation of Psychologists in Investigation of Juvenile Victims and Witnesses, PH International with close cooperation of the RA Ministry of Education and Science and the State Investigative Committee organized a training program for 17 psychologists from Yerevan, Kotayk, Armavir and Ararat regions. An additional group of 5 public defenders from the same regions also joined the training sessions led by two experts who are also the authors of the Manual.

SRO Capacity Building | am leap | 25 May 2018


Within the Legal Education and Active Participation (LEAP) program, on May 16, 17 and May 19-20, PH International, with close cooperation of the RA Juvenile Police, organized two consecutive training sessions for 53 SROs from Yerevan and all regions of Armenia. Representatives from the funding organization also were present during almost all sessions of the training.
